This wine is gorgeous. Gorgeous color, gorgeous texture, gorgeous structure.

Totally Cab Franc, which I love- loads of violet, black tea, currants, chambord. Loads of aroma and energy.

Perfectly vibrant and ready to drink. Probably the most Chinon like of the line up. I can tell there is a little oak on here, This is just what I want Cab Franc to be.

This wine was fermented naturally and aged in mostly neutral French oak with a few twice used barrels thrown in and it shows.

2019 Halcyon Cabernet Franc, Barsotti Vineyard

$35.00

Like Camino Alto Vineyard, Barsotti is farmed by Ron and Chuck Mansfield, the vineyard sits at 3000 feet elevation. The soils are porphyry and granitic rock. The head trained vines are planted in decomposed pink granite which is rare in California, and also found in northern Beaujolais.

The family is a big name out in El Dorado and there are still loads of apple trees around the property. That zone this fruit comes from is called apple hill, with Gamay planted on one side and Cabernet Franc on the other.

We're on a break!

Don’t worry. We are coming back better than ever in 2024!

While Ownroot Collective  will continue to focus on winemaker side-projects, we will now offer 4 shipments per year, shipped automatically.

You can still shop for wine any time, and we will still offer lots of content, connection, and virtual tastings with winemakers.

We hope you will join us for our newest adventure!
