By now the world must know of my love of a salty Chardonnay. The notes for this wine are all stone fruit and ocean breeze. I feel like I am sailing, salt spray on my face. There is nectarine, apricot, white plum on the nose, and the palate is all lemon and minerality. This wine is stunning, no shock coming from James, after knowing what he does with Chardonnay at Liquid Farm.
The Cienega Valley is a magical area that is host to some of the first and finest plantings in the country, their unique flavors made possible by both the soil and the climate.
This wine was fermented with native yeasts and aged on the lees in neutral French oak puncheon for 16 months. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
