Again, that balance of California ripe and old world earth has me super pumped! On the nose there is blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry mingled with tobacco and a hint of tapenade. There are some hefty tannins that give some nice weight and structure to this wine without making it a monster.
This wine was destemmed and aged in the skins for 16 days enjoying native fermentation. It was aged for 10 months in barrels, 16% new French oak. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered, so vegan. 138 cases produced.

“The Cabernet Franc vineyard we discovered through John Skupny from Lang & Reed. Jim has known John for a while and we went in 2020 to do a tasting with him. We were supposed to be social distancing and the tasting was supposed to be half an hour. Well John is a talker, so we ended up being there for four hours tossing bottles back and forth across the table. We told him about how much we love Cabernet Franc and he turned us on to the T-T Ranch Vineyard in Alexander Valley. He called the owner on our behalf, and In 2021 we split the tonnage with him.”
