The flavor profile is lean and mineral driven. There is citrus and quince on the nose along with seashell and lemon. The mouthfeel is elegant and energetic, incredibly well balanced. This wine can age for some years, if you’re into that kind of thing. (WE ARE!)

This wine was hand picked and fermented with native yeasts, secondary fermentation was native as well. Aging was for 10 months in neutral french oak barrels.

2018 Pass Wines Chardonnay

$42.00

Wood Valley Road winds through a sub valley directly in the center of the Carneros AVA. The cool marine layers of the area are the predominant influence on the area, prime conditions for the Chardonnays and Merlots that are typical of the area.

Ryan found this vineyard at a house party in 2013. There was a table of shiners, which are the unlabeled bottles that everyone in the wine industry runs around with. He found one that spoke to him and spent the rest of the night hunting down the owner. When he did, he learned the fruit was under contract with a bigger winery until 2018, when the vineyard owner was hoping to transition to selling to smaller producers. He decided to wait, knowing that when he did finally get his hands on the fruit it would be worth it.

We're on a break!

Don’t worry. We are coming back better than ever in 2024!

While Ownroot Collective  will continue to focus on winemaker side-projects, we will now offer 4 shipments per year, shipped automatically.

You can still shop for wine any time, and we will still offer lots of content, connection, and virtual tastings with winemakers.

We hope you will join us for our newest adventure!
