This wine shows floral notes of pear, jasmine, and apple blossom. There is white pepper and peach with a line of deep earthiness underneath. This wine has great acid to go along with the floral tones and is enjoyable with food or just a hot sunny day.

This wine was whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel at cold temperatures to allow for a long fermentation. It was aged on the gross lees for 6 months in stainless steel before bottling.

2020 PWR Pinot Gris

$19.00

This Pinot Gris comes from a vineyard in the Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley, which sits between the towns of Napa and Yountville. It is considered one of the cooler sub-regions of Napa because of its proximity to the bay and the nature of the topography (flat).

Pinot Gris, or Grigio, depending on where you are at becasue it is the same grape, is one of great diversity in presentation. Ranging from super floral and full bodied to linear and zippy, this grape has about as diverse of a flavor presentation that a white grape can have. In Alsace it is usually on the richer side, barrel fermented and lush. In Italy it is usually picked earlier, aged in steel and shows more stone fruit and less of a creamy palate.

In America we are all over the board. Depending on region, climate, and production a Pinot Gris in this country can be anything, and this one is solidly a little of both.
