Named for Katrina’s cousin Hannah, who was a farmer and world traveler. This wine is breezy and gives free spirit ocean vibes. It is bright with kumquat, honeycomb, steel and quince. There is great texture and high acid, with tension and energy. Let it open for a bit and you will be rewarded.

2/3 of the fruit was pressed directly and fermented in barrel. The remaining 1/3 was fermented on the skin for 5 days. It was all fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral French oak for 10 months. No fining, filtering or sulfer. Vegan.

2021 Social Creatures Hannah Chenin Blanc

$32.00

Hannah is from San Benito. It’s more Loire styled. It’s got really ripping acidity at first and so I do 1/3 of it with skin contact. Chenin can be really boring and flabby. I want this to stick a little bit on the back palate. It’s partially orange wine because of a bit of skin contact.”

We're on a break!

Don’t worry. We are coming back better than ever in 2024!

While Ownroot Collective  will continue to focus on winemaker side-projects, we will now offer 4 shipments per year, shipped automatically.

You can still shop for wine any time, and we will still offer lots of content, connection, and virtual tastings with winemakers.
